SLAM — St. Louis Area Ministry, in partnership with Adventist Community Services (ACS) of the Central States Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, seeks to bring compassionate, practical, and holistic community assistance directly to individuals and families throughout the St. Louis area.

ACS is the official community outreach ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church throughout the North American Division territories, serving the whole person through holistic ministry. Its mission is:

“Serving Communities in Christ’s Name.”

The SLAM/ACS Mobile Outreach Trailer will provide an opportunity to take that mission beyond the walls of a church or traditional ministry location and directly into neighborhoods, community events, disaster-response situations, and areas experiencing need.

Purpose of the Mobile Outreach Trailer

The trailer will serve as a mobile community resource and outreach center that can travel throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Potential uses include:

• Community resource distribution
• Food and essential-needs assistance
• Clothing and household-goods distribution
• Disaster and emergency response
• Community health and wellness outreach
• Senior and family support
• Homeless and transitional-needs outreach
• Resource referrals and connections to social-service agencies
• Prayer and spiritual encouragement
• Community education
• Seasonal outreach initiatives
• Neighborhood and community events
• Support following local emergencies or disasters

The trailer will allow SLAM and ACS to meet people where they are, while demonstrating Christ-centered compassion through tangible service.
