How Tithe Is Used

The Biblical Tithe

Tithing, defined in the Bible as giving 10% of one’s income, is a practice where individuals “return tithe” to God at their places of worship. This important contribution supports priests and ministry leaders in their communities, signifying that God is the Lord over all they own (Hebrews 7:2, Genesis 28:22).

In the 1870s, the Seventh-day Adventist Church adopted the biblical principle of tithing as the main method for funding its global mission. This consistent practice of tithing has been vital for the growth and sustainability of our church, allowing its message to thrive across various regions worldwide. By embracing tithing, believers contribute to a greater purpose and ensure the continued impact of their faith.

What Happens to The Tithe I Return?

All tithes collected by local churches are sent to the Central States Conference, where they are thoughtfully distributed within the conference and across the globe. Giving tithe helps ensure that our mission to spread the three angels message can continue worldwide.

Where Does the Tithe Money Go?

When tithes are returned, resources are distributed among church organizations using a specific formula that supports our global mission.
