Retreat Facilitators

 Derrick and Sonya McCollum are the founders of The Marriage Menders, LLC & are Licensed Clinical Social Workers specializing in Marriage & Family counseling. They have been practicing together for 24 years and their practice, which is located outside of Atlanta, consists of providing office, telephonic and video conference counseling to families, individuals. married and unmarrried couples throughout the United States & abroad  

The McCollums teach the importance of mental & emotional wellness within their practice and the connection this has to having healthy relationships within our marriages, families and our community.  They are also the authors of “Unlocking The Mysteries of Marriage”, a published book which they wrote to help married couples and singles understand the plan that God truly has for His children and to share in a very transparent way how through their many marital challenges they became stronger as individuals and as a married couple. Their transparency is also visualized on their YouTube channel segment called "Can We Talk".    

 Derrick and Sonya have been married for 27 years and stay busy with their four children, Danielle, Sian, Sye and Little Derrick II. They are excited that their daughter,  Sian completed her MSW at the University of Michigan in June of 2021 and has joined their counseling practice, now seeing their children and youth population.     The Marriage Menders are most excited about helping marriages understand,  learn and celebrate the plan that God had for us as His children and embracing the necessary changes marriage requires of us, so that we will be fit for the kingdom of Heaven one day!

Bridal Cave Tour –

Bridal Cave is a cave located near Camdenton, Missouri, in Lake of the Ozarks. Bridal Cave takes its name from the Osage Native American legend of Conwee, the son of an Osage chief who desired to marry the daughter of the chief of the opposing tribe. He is said to have kidnapped her for this reason. She committed suicide, and later her companion was wed to Conwee's brother Prince Buffalo in Bridal Chapel.

Rated as one of the most scenic caverns in America, Bridal Cave has more formations per square foot than any other known cave or cavern in the United States.
